Has Anyone Been To The Ghetto In Oakland?

I live in Chicago, my friend who was recently in Oakland told me overall it was 10 times more ghetto than chicago. He claimed to have heard gunshots multiple times during his stay. Has anyone else been there? what is it like?

i have not been there, but i live 15 miles away and it is definitely VERY ghetto. it has lots of crime

Now why do u want to be in the ghetto?! well, i have to say certain part of oakland is more dangerous then others, u don't want to be in the Deep East Or Deep West, safe place would be in the middle of oakalnd...or in the Oakland hills...
