Question:

Has Anyone Read "Hope's Boy" about a child growing up in foster care who went on to become an attorney?

Apparently, he went on to become an attorney but his specialized field of practice is child advocacy and working to reform the foster care system.

i was wondering if anyone read it and had any thoughts / reviews on it?

  1. DOESN'T IT SOUND GOOOOOOOD!! I just ordered it and I can't WAIT until it comes!! This is a book I am DYING to read. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow :) I ordered it this weekend :)

  3. A child called it, about a boy and a man named dave, are great. They are all sequals to on anouther. It just shows that adoptees and foster kids dont all go down the path of becoming criminals.!!

  4. I haven't read it but I will now.  I am a foster mom and have been for almost 3 years and It breaks my heart to hear some of the stories these kids have.

  5. Haven't read it, but it's now on my paperbackswap list.

    BTW, the sequels to "A Child Called It" are "The Lost Boy", and "A Man Named Dave".  I think he has written others as well, but those are the books in that particular series.

    ETA:  Wow...it's going to be awhile before I get this one.  I'm #81 on the waiting list!

  7. This is exactly what I am talking about people who had a bad experience themselves actually doing something to bring about Chance.  It looks like it will be an interesting read and I will be getting it.
