  1. no offense kids die all the time.  its sad but reality.  not only foster kids die.  probably more regular kids die than foster kids or adopted kids.  so one kid dies in foster care. kids die in the ghettos and slums all the time and they are not foster kids.

  2. i have read them all

our kids have  meals, study time, bedtimes

    love and laughter.

You don't know how many hours we have rocked children way into the night because of their PTSD and missing their abusers. Soothing them and reassuring them, some have not been bathed in mos. and are afraid they will be abused in the bathroom, sometimes it takes days to give them a simple bath. Don't you dare judge us all because of a few people that collect kids for multiple paychecks....we donate our stingy check back to the community. We dress them all in the same kinds of clothing our children wear, pack their lunches and put love notes in their backpacks. we weep over their bruises and stand with them during their medical exams.we take them to the dentist and teach them to floss.... and cry at night when the  courts give them back to the "best" family member ...only to get them back 6 mos later and have to start all over again.so don't you dare judge me or the 95 percent of the other parents like us.

  3. ranting again I see?

  4. Very sad.  Abuse and neglect has no boundaries thats for sure.  This placement was a relative foster placement and many times these types of placements fall throguh the cracks...it is assumed that this is the best place.  Unfortunately the natural parents of these children learned their behavior from their upbringing, therefore the "apple doesnt fall far from the tree".  I am not familiar at all how Canada approaches their child welfare system but it is obviously not perfect!!

  5. i guess its hard not having someone really there to care for you are dat child*sad*

  6. i was a foster parent for about 15 years. i did it in several states (ex was in the navy) and each one had a very detailed plan on what we had to do. it was a lot. if you didn't do it you could not be a foster parent. kids slip through the system in all areas ie. priests, etc.

  7. I love you momofone!! You hit the hammer right on the head. Family placement is foster placement just with the family. I say this all the time, why would you place a child with a grandparent or other family member when whatever the parents problem is it stems from the family! There are parents out there that have FAS and how did they get that? HUM!!?? Foster care isn't a bad institution it just needs a lot of help in a time when money is going to support a war we don't need. We've spent way too much money on death and not enough money on this countries children. What do you think the world will be like if we don't take care of them now? By the way I never read about this story but I remember the story out of Florida where a little girl was dead for months and the worker never questioned why the girl wasn't there when she went for visits. HORRIBLE case!

  8. According to the link you provided the child was in relative placement not foster care.

  9. No I haven't. It's sad when the children are taken from one home and put into another abusive home. And anyone who says the children deserve to die is an idiot in my opinion. Our justice system is failing these children. They need to make adoption more affordable and not make it a big wait list.

  10. blind monkeys with shot guns...lovely. Do you know anything about CPS workers? In most states they are bachelors or masters level professionals who by the way don't carry guns. They also don't make the actual decisions about placement. If a child is removed there is a court hearing the next day. The "blind monkeys" present their case to the judge as do the parents attorney and a seperate attorney to represent the child. The decision is ALWAYS made by the judge who hears all sides and before you say the judges always side with the social workers-believe me they dont! Also, it is THE LAW that relative placments have to be explored first. So, I'm curious if children are neglected and abused in this country every minute of every day why anyone would be opposed to people who try to protect them? Unless you are pro child abuse?

  11. This is so sad. I cant believe anyone could do this to any child, adopted or not.

  12. I dislike the foster care system. They're in a rush to place kids and don't give proper screening. I guess part of my dislike stems from past experience as well as things that happened to my mom.
