Even having very BAD credit, in a high risk category?

I understand there are companies and law firms that can remove negative things on your credit report such as charge-offs, judgments, late payments, even bankruptcys. If anyone has successfully had this done, I would like to read about it.

  1. As the others have already stated, the answer is no unless they can successfully prove the info is not accurate. Otherwise if it's legit, it stays, and no amount of $$ will buy you a clean credit report. Teh only credit repair is time.

  2. You can only repair your credit by making good payments for a long period of time.  You cannot get a judgment of bankruptcy or default off of your record for 7-10 years.  Late payments can be removed if the company they are with agreees to remove them because they were put their in error.  Pay your bills on time.  That is your best remedy.

  3. it is all a SCAM no one can remove anything you can't remove yourself.

    Sorry...

  4. I wouldn't hire a company to repair my credit, you can do it yourself, this article lists several tips on how to do so, http://www.monitorbankrates.com/how-to-b...

  5. Yes, there are legitimate credit repair services out there. Otherwise, there would be no credit repair services with positive BBB ratings and the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) would make credit repair companies illegal instead of simply regulating how they can operate (ie protect you from being scammed). Put simply, the FTC would not allow the hundreds of credit repair companies across the nation to continue with their business if the whole industry was a scam.

Hundreds of thousands of people have seen great success with credit repair companies so trust them before you trust blanket statements like "all credit repair companies are scams".

In the U.S., the law gives you the right to dispute anything on your credit reports that you feel is inaccurate, misleading, biased, and a few others.  If you feel that any of the negative items on your credit report give lenders an unfair perception of your true credit worthiness, you have the right to dispute those items.

You can dispute these items yourself by ordering free copies of your credit reports and then sending dispute letters to each of the credit bureaus. However, if you are like most people and don't have the time to learn the applicable consumer credit laws or the time to experiment with the tactics for repairing your own credit, you can use one of the many legitimate credit repair organizations out there.

For an example of how a credit repair company was able to permanently remove bad credit, check out www.707credit.com.

  6. There are a lot of companies that CLAIM they can remove those negative things. But truth is, legitimate derogatories will come right back at the next update.

Before you waste money signing up with a credit repair company, read this:  http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/cred...

  7. I did it and I did it myself.

I paid off my debt and made my payments on time. You can't do anything til you pay off the debt. So long as the debt is there.....

Once it is paid off get a copy of your credit report and start writing to the companies asking them to remove your bad credit reported by their company.

Now, if you didn't pay on time every month don't waste your time or theirs.

During this time, learn to manage your money better and curb your spending. Otherwise you will be back in the same hole all over again.
