What is Toulouse like? Would you recommend it? Are their other (southern) French cities you would recommend visiting? Why? We are planning a trip to France. Thanks!

  1. I'm french, I suggest you:

Lyon, Montpellier, Avignon, Annecy, Strasbourg, Dijon, Mont Sain Michel, La Rochelle, Nimes.

  2. I don't know but I would like to visit Sauvé.

  3. Carcasson, Pau, Avignon, Orange, Arles, Antigues, Grasse,  and many more are definitely worth visiting.

  4. I haven't been to Toulouse, but I definitely say that Nice, Cannes, Nimes, Carcasonne, and Aix-en-Provence are great cities to visit.

Oh, and try to cross the border over into Monaco if you can!

  5. Toulouse is a beautiful city.  There are many nearby villages that are perfect for a day trip and there's many things to see inside the city as well.  It's called "the pink city" because many of the buildings are pink/salmon colored.  Most of the people living in Toulouse are young college students.... it's a college town, but it's not overly loud or crazy.  I spent some time there and although I didn't go sightseeing a lot, what I did see was charming and typical of southern France.  I definitely would recommend it to you.

  6. Toulouse is very beautiful (it's called "the rose country"in france, because of the colors of the walls in the historic center), and it can be the basis to visit the south-west : Carcassone , the pyrinean mountains, the catthare castles, and it is a place when food is very very very good!
