I am trying to transfer my child out of the school he is currently as he has been attacked several times including stabbed several serious incidents, he is only a small child and quiet in a mainstream secoundary school with a specail needs base, but now this situation is getting more serious by the day!, Has anyone applied before the panel to transfer their child in this situation any advice would be helpful please help, or email me if need be if you do not want to post on here!!

Ps is there an appeal or ruling by law if they turn me down, as his placement is by law due to educational statement!

Thank you!

  1. Hi

you need to send a letter to the panel expressing your concerns and suggesting an alternative placement you need toclearly explaing why the current school is no longer appropriate. You need to be clear of where you want your child to go and why. - obviously you stand more chance if it is a mainstream school.

You should also ask for an interium review to be held at the current school so your concens are noted and ask for a memebr from the SEN team to attend this meeting.

You should if possible ask the school to involve their edctaional psychologist who would also be able to offer advice.

    good luck
