  1. Years ago it was notorious for not recognising trade unions - don't know what the current situation is.


  2. The union for shop staff is USDAW.legally they cannot stop you from joining a trade union. Ask you colleagues (discreetly) if they pay Trade Union fees, just out of interest, so to speak.   3. If you want /need to join a union mate join Unison no one can stop you joining a union its your right.

    I think you pay about £7.00 a month which comes straight out of your wages.

    Just ring one of the directory enquiries numbers and ask for the local office nearest to you.
