Has Brendan Shanahan said whether or not he's going to play next season (08-09) or not?

Its pretty much 2 parties bumping heads.  In the Brendan Shanahan camp, he's looking to play again next season and he wants to do it with the NY Rangers.  His agent Rick Curran has been talking with only the Rangers about that but nothing has been finalized.  On the other end, the Rangers are definitely going through a changing of the guard with Jagr, Straka, and Avery gone so they don't really see Shanahan in their future.

He wants to play only with the Rangers...but I don't know if they reject what he wants if he will play again with another team.

He was Rumoured to sign with his old Team The New Jersey Devils he also considered going to russia  he may sign with the Rangers But I'm not sure they're gunna re-sign him.I really hope he stays in the NHL because hes my favourite player.

He's talking with one team and one team only in the NHL right now and thats the NYR.

i don't think he is going to play next season because the rangers are pretty much at their cap. i the rangers would have made room and signed him cause he is a great leader and everything but there is just no room. he said he only wants to play for the rangers, if he doesn't sign with the rangers he won't go to any other team. even with the little money the rangers have left they wanna use it to sign younger players from hartford like Lauri Korpikoski,  Bobby Sanguinetti, Artem Anisimov, they wanna sign the young guys. i would love to see shanny play but i don't think its gonna happen
