Apparently households throw away 4million tons of food each year (who weighs it all I wonder?) yet in March 2008 a report was produced showing that 16million tons of food was destroyed/thrown away by farmers, supermarkets, shops and restuarants.Surely the message in our flagging econonmy should not be; DON'T BUY! but use it more efficiently by cooking it and then freezing what you don't eat so you can use it another day?
