Has Bush foreseen a serious threat and just handled it badly?

OK for all you can say about Bush he has proven to be right about Iran and problems in the middle east. With the Iran issue you must agree, the expansion of the nuclear missile sheild is necessary. Iran is already showing its willingness to retaliate and its not going to get better despite how much we would like to put our heads in the sand. Personally I cant see why Iran needs nukes. Pakistan is a nuclear power willing, able and more importantly responsible to defend Islam. There is no need for Iran to have them. We should look to cut nukes because as the US has problems with guns the same will happen with countries. The more people u give the weapon the more likely someone will be crazy and use it. A terrorist chemical attack or conventional attack can be responded with in a lower key way. But nukes can only force a nuke response. If 9/11 was a nuke attack the public could only be happy with a nuke response and the world would see it as just. Scary is it not?

How is a nation that HAS NOT attacked us a threat. Pre-emptive war is something this country should not endorse.

Pres Bush is THE BEST MAN for the job.  He CLEARLY understands that it is suicide to attempt  a  response to an attack from ANY weapon of mass destruction.  With a nuclear world, preemptive attacks are not only reasonable but may be the only way to avoid massive loss of life or even our country as we know it.

The cat is out of the bag. Someone will use a device-the only thing keeping anyone from using it now is political will some degree of sanity and the fact that pariah nations are generally shunned by all but France and China. Using a nuke is not only the equivalent of political if not actual suicide- even Kim Jung Ill is hesitant- it remains in the domain of a mad man,or woman, but that eventuality is only a heartbeat away. Pakistan could become radicalized over night with a change of power. We will forever more be on the threshold.
