Has China's Olympics Been A Success?

ie did they set out the goal to make beijing the greatest olympic spectacle ever?

must admit its the best olympics ive seen (i'm 26), that opening show ive never seen anything like it, but yeah views?

Opening Ceremony was good. Scoring judges apparently are being paid off. Nobody in there right mind would say the scoring was fair across the board. I got tired of screaming at my TV. I quit watching last week.

yes it has been! for a nation that size to organise an event this big and have everything work they must be a success! every event happened so yes it has been a success!

No doubt, China's olympics were great if not the best concerning the organization and preparation, the opening show was great and the Beijing Olympic village was amazing, but wen we talk about the sport's competitions, I think thy were not that good, and they were getting boring, China getting too many medals, U.S.A complaining about everything, Judges were not fair all the time, there were no surprises, nothing new, when you compare between what most of the countries had done in the last Olympics and what they did in this one you will find that most got worse.... hope that we can see something better in London and anyway thanks for China for their great efforts in organizing the Olympics.

If you consider only one side of the coin then it is a great success. That is the Sports side.

What about the promised human right? Jailing the people who wanted to  protest according the rules set by the authorities? Forcefully removing people from the city centre to outskirt of the city without proper compensation? Security as tight as inside a jail?

To some winners Olympic is success and to loosers, failure.

I wouldn't say it was the biggest in terms of a good impression - Sydney did better.  But it was a success.
