Has Dhonis slow innings lost india the match?

he got about 70 runs of 100 balls, with a pathetic strike rate of about 70%, on a flat batsmen freindly wicket.

Is 300 runs enough on this batsmen heavon wicket. And was Dhoni too slow, he didnt even take the attack in the last 5 overs?

Has Dhoni lost his ability to hit the ball over the boundary?

  1. yes

  2. To be exact, Dhoni got 76 runs from 96 balls, with a strike rate of 79.17. I understand that there was a bit of pressure when he came out to bat, but I really don't  see why he didn't attempt the big shots even in the last few overs of the innings. He has managed to hit only 4 boundaries in his 76 runs. And it's the same Dhoni who says that seniors like Ganguly and Dravid should be kept out of ODI on account of a poor strike rate. Well, what happened to himself today on such a flat pitch? The truth is that his own strike rate is deteriorating day by day. The overrated fellow is always quick to criticize his seniors, but slow to do it for himself!

Perhaps Dhoni didn't want to lose his wicket, and that's why he refrained from attempting the big shots even when the situation demanded. Dhoni was keen on keeping his wicket intact, and stay as not out. This clearly indicates how selfishly he plays for himself instead of for his team. If India loses today, it will be the responsibility of the skipper MS Dhoni, who thinks he knows everything, and at the moment  India has a chance of losing, because Pakistan needs only 104 from 114 balls with 8 wickets remaining.

    Edit: India has lost!

  3. I think you are being a bit harsh on him, his actual strike rate for the innings was 79 and bear in mind he went in at 91-3 and then lost Yuvraj at 129-4. Had he gone at this stage by overdoing it India may have struggled to get to 200. As a bat if you put 300 on the board you should consider you re job done and rely on the bowlers to finish it.

  4. i was a bit angry too but you have to remember the top india batsmen got out relatively quick. they made  a decent score with a  good strike rate but did not last long enough.

dhoni still could have had a better strike rate though but if india loses its match, its because the top batsmen made decent runs but not enough. sehwag made 49 but  many made runs in the 30s.

  5. 1stly since dhoni has becum captain he is playin majority slow innings.... mayb he thinks he has mature but he is juss showing off... this ****** is a b&asterd.

  6. As a captain of T20-T20 CHAMPION TEAM he played very slowly. If INDIA loss the match then credit of this will go to dhoni.

  7. India lost because of dhoni.Yes,we don't have experienced bowling attack from zaheer, bhajji etc &also present pacers are not doing good job.It is dhoni's fault that we lost the match. He was playing from 12th over to 49thover.Dhoni even in the end overs played slowly to try to be the not out batsmen.Dhoni’s was a selfish effort. He play himself in(and for much too long) and to get into form.Agreed that he was not in form but for that 100 vs hong kong and took time to play himself back into form putting his personal interests ahead of the Indian team. And the commentators clearly stated that it was a flat track to bat on.He could have tried to play like younis khan but he feared he might lose his wicket even aftr scoring fifty& he played slowly in the end overs. And a good 325 was expected in this flat track, anyone would have grabbed the opportunity to play in this track ,had he not played in that fashion on such a flat track, india had a chance of posting a good total.he played too slow on a good batting track& put his personal interests ahead of the team.

  8. I do not know what else could have been done in that position of the Match in that heat.

I am not a Dhoni fan, but I think he did well today.

  9. Since India lost 4 wickets for 129 runs, Ithe situation demanded caution and building up partnership.  In that process, the scoring rate came down.  Much was expected from Yusuf Pathan, who failed miserably. Still 308 runs was a reasonably good score, which our bowlkers failed miserably to defend.  I will blame our bowlers for the loss as no bowler came good, whereas Pakistan Bowlers did better.
