I'm still waiting, a year after buying my (regrettably) Vista computer, for Fisher Price to update their software to Vista-compatible. I've contacted their support services who assured me that a fix was in the works and took my email address to - supposedly - contact me when the fix was ready. Has anyone gotten this fix yet? My daughter is going to outgrow this thing before it's working again!

  1. The Fisher-Price Kid Tough FP3 player is a durable, portable music player designed for use by children. The music player comes with a program designed to convert audio tracks into the required FP3 audio files, then uploads the data directly to the music player. However, when running Windows Vista, the computer fails to detect the Fisher-Price device as anything but a removable storage device. Although this prevents you from importing audio directly from the Fisher Price software, it is possible to still use the device with the computer.

In order to make Fisher Price FP3 work on vista. Follow the following instructions. Install the Fisher-Price FP3 player software if it isn't currently on the computer. This program is needed to convert the audio tracks.Open the Fisher-Price program, then insert the music CD into the computer. Close any auto-play windows and the Fisher-Price program detects the CD, asking if you want to convert to the FP3 format. Click "Yes" and the tracks are ripped off the CD and converted. If you have audio files already on the computer, click and drag the files into the program window and click "Convert."Plug the USB data cable into the USB port on the Fisher Price FP3 music player, then connect the opposite end of the cable into one of the USB ports on the computer.Click "Start," "Computer" and double-click the removable device icon. A window appears with all the files currently stored on the FP3 player. Open the "FP3" directory folder and the current songs on the device appear.Click-and-drag the newly converted FP3 audio files into the open window. Once the files have finished importing into the music device, close the windows, right-click the "Removable Device" icon and select "Eject" from the pull-down menu.
