Yes they have been making Hybrids for about 4 years now plus they have a fleet of different alternative fuel cars on the market. Just nobody bothers to look. The Ford Hybrid Escape is one of the best on the market.

The Escape Hybrid has been around since model year 2004.  It has proven to be quite a durable car, with over 600 of them in the New York City taxi fleet, on the receiving end of the worst abuse a cabbie can dish out without much problems.

Next year Ford is coming out with a hybrid version of the Fusion sedan, which will use the same Power Split Device drivetrain as the Escape Hybrid (Toyota hybrids also use the PSD system).  The Fusion Hybrid should be quite a nice car as well.
