So it seems. I gather the Ruskies are taking out all their fustrations they've had with how Bush deals with them on poor little Georgia.

Bush wants to place missiles around Russia and even get the countries surrounding it to join NATO, all as if the USSR was still around.

I'm afraid the Russians have had it and not only are they going to make sure  the breakway region of Georgia gets its way but also try to change the leadership in that country so they stop asking for NATO membership.

Well, in a manner of speaking, yes. They picked  fight with a bully thinking that their friend, an even bigger bully, would come to their aid.  A bit of a miscalculation it appears at this point, it's not a good idea to pick fights with people bigger than yourself.
