Question:

Has Global Warming turned into Global Snoring?

With no warming since 1998, fewer hurricanes, record snow and cold increasing, is it time to say we fixed global warming?

Can we say "global warming" is over, done with, one for the history book?

  1. I think someone needs to delete this portion of yahoo answers.   Its nothing but a conflict zone.  People post questions, then pick which ever answers THEY want to be true whether they are correct or not.  Then people put things in the sources box that are irrelevant to the subject, or are total B.S. because their answer sounds like pure c**p!

People say what they need to say to convince other stupid people of things that arent true!  Mass extinctions because of global warming?  If anyone knew ANYTHING about the previous mass extinctions, then they wouldnt be blabing about this c**p now.  You cant compare a normal warming cycle with times when a rock bigger than mt. everest hit the earth, or a time when a volcanic eruption lasted a million years ( siberian traps).  You just cant.

This portion of yahoo answers makes me sick though, people just repeat what they heard on the news, or some article from seth borenstien (real winner..).  Its just too bad they cant figure anything out for themselves and realize this is a normal event that wont really change anything.  You cant predict the future. Even if you think you have all the data, you dont.

  2. No.

Short term weather in one place can overpower global warming - for a short time.  But long term we're going nowhere but up, until we take serious action.

This graph shows it nicely.  Some years are unusually warm (1998), some unusually cold (1999).  But the long term trend is undeniable, unless you reject science and data (some do).

  3. It won't really truly be solved until we have a unified world government [someone else said this]

or Bush signs The Kyoto Protocols [repeated ad nauseum on CNNNNNNNNNN]

or until we make peace with Mother Earth, accept an award then fly off into the wild blue yonder in our own personal jets

  4. i know you may feel as though NASA is just a conspiring government agency - but, they disagree with your statement.

  5. I'm still waiting for you to explain to me how you managed to discern a statistically significant trend in ten years of data. You must know something statisticians don't, and I'm quite curious to know what it is.

I'm also waiting for you to explain why you keep saying there's been no warming since 1998, when the trend for the past decade (as meaningless as it is) is quite obviously positive.

Come on, Dr. J, let's have it!

  6. No. But there are a few people who find physics boring and understanding climate change tedious.

  7. what are you talking about? (by the way, i love that picture that you have as your avatar!)

  8. Yes, it is a snore, no, it isn't over. It is behaving just like the scientists say. A fraction of a degree temperature rise in 100 years. ZZZzzzzzzzz......

  9. Yes, it's a real snore. Even this Question and Answer board is getting a bit boring and sleepy, with the same questions being asked every single day.
