Has India ever officially held the Olympics? ?

I want to know since Beijing is holding the Olympics if India has ever hosted the Olympics in the past.

No, they have never hosted the Olympics.

As you may know, the 2012 Olympics will be held in London. India is not on the short list for the 2016 Olympics. Delhi, India is planning to bid for the 2020 Olympics, but selection will not be made until 2013, so there's no certainty that they will be hosting those games.
