  1. ITS his luck that BRINGS all the accolades to him HE certainly dont deserve dis

  2. Yes of course. BCCI have gone insane in recommending Dhoni's name for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, and the Indian government was equally irrational in it's decision to confer the award upon Dhoni. An immature player like Dhoni, who hasn't yet significantly contributed to Indian cricket didn't deserve the highest sporting honour in the country at all. I don't know why he is being conferred that award, because it seems Dhoni's getting that award will lower the prestige of the award itself.

Even the Indian government is so obsessed with Dhoni, they forgot to question the justification of giving him that award, when many cricketers are still there, who have greater contributions to the Indian team.

Shouldn't Anil Kumble who is the highest wicket taker of the country get a recognition for what he has done for so many years?

And what about Sourav Ganguly? Surely he is the most successful captain of India, and one of the finest players of ODI we ever had except Sachin? He deserves it more than anyone else.

Even Dravid's name could have been considered, for what he has achieved through his batting.

Thus, the decision to bestow Dhoni with the highest sporting award, when all these legendary great cricketers are still there is nothing short of insanity. It would imply that as a cricketer, Dhoni is of the same standard as Sachin, which is absolutely hilarious, considering his technical weaknesses. This only proves how overrated he is, and it's an unfair move on the part of our government to reward the undeserver.

  3. Why not. After all under his captaincy we won the world cup, we defeated Australia in Australia.

    Its worth.

  4. In today's world everything has become market based.  Since Dhoni is a blue eye boy of Indian corporate, this honour has been given to him.

  5. Its true The Indian Government give to dhoni the highest sporting honour Rajeev gandhi khelratn award. and he is 2nd cricketer after Tendulkar to get this honour.

  6. It is simply too much. If I were in Dhoni's place I wouldn't accept the Honor and not be a part of Indian govt. Charity show. Ask anyone and the answer will be that Dhoni has not yet done anything to deserve the highest sporting Honor. Whatever has been achieved is entirely due to the team work. Dhoni can't drink all three gallons of milk all by himself unless the cow is owned by his maternal uncle.

  7. its f9

  8. Dhoni deserves the award but also Dravid, Ganguly, Gavaskar, kapil Dev, Anil Kumble and many other great indian cricketers.

  9. I honestly believe that he DOES NOT deserve this huge honour.......

    he simply DOES NOT

  10. Yes,I totally agree with you.The BCCI gone mad. Dhoni doesn't deserve this award.

He does't deserve this award, because Since his debut to present  he was not able to make permanent mark in test team.

BCCI thought, in his captancy India have won the 20-20 world cup,so he deserves the award. Then what can we say about (dravid, ganguly, kumble).

Ofcourse, he is a big powerful hitter.but, he is a 20-20 player.

  11. They could have waited for some more time.

They should have selected one of the other three seniors.

  12. Ya...good question.....really Indian government is mad......after Sachin there are lot other's like our Dada who really deserves this honour...But now it's like avoiding seniors as Dhoni did earlier....

  13. they did it because Tendulkar was abord

  14. It is politics, which is insanity at the highest level.

However, it was 10 years before Tendulkar was awarded Khel Ratna. I have no qualms about Dhoni being awarded. My only question, if Dhoni is eligible, so are the likes of Kumble, Dravid, Ganguly etc. Why are they not awarded?

Ganguly has taken the team to Finals of 2003 World Cup. Kumble and Dravid were outstanding for  India.

  15. its to early to give him award like this
