Question:

Has Jason Williams improved his defense?

Has Miami Heat PG Jason Williams improved his defense at all in recent years? Apparently, Shaquille O'Neal wants Williams in Phoenix. I groaned at that, because I always heard that Williams was a bad defender. It makes me think O'Neal cares more about having his buddies around him than about what his team needs (defense). Unless Williams has become a decent defender.

  1. He sounds like a typical phoenix player bc he cant play defense at all

  2. No he has not because if he had not the Heat would not be ready to replace him with Derrick Rose he only kept his job because they had pick number 2 and even then they thought about bringing in O.J. Mayo to take his job on the starting team, but I will give it to Jason Williams he has some moves on offense ,but his defense has not improved and bringing him into phoenix now would be a mistake for one his salary is to high and they would have to give up one of their role players who actually do play defense like a Raja Bell or Leandro Barbosa

  3. i dont think phoniex is going to trade miami anymore

  4. who would want jason williams as a PG when they have steve nash?

  5. If Phoenix is planning on signing Jason Williams, I sure hope it's as a backup role lol. Jason's an okay defender, but not a dominating one. He wouldn't hurt them defensively, but I doubt he'd help either.

I must admit, if Phoenix signed him as a backup to Nash, that would help them a lot. It would allow Barbosa to play shooting guard, where he would be more effective.

  6. Jason's defense was much better when he was a Grizzly.  Remember, he's going on 33.  He's way past his prime.
