Has Juan Marquez made any kind of mark in boxing outside of two close fights with Pac?

Question

I know JMM is a great defensive fighter but what exactly has he done with his career? Other than being 0-1-1 against Pac, He has close victory over an older Barrera. He has loses to Peden and John. So why are guys like Kellerman acting like he is Salvador Sanchez? What exactly has he accomplished?

Do you think if he retired today he would make it to the hall of fame?

Many of the top guys ducked Marquez. It's not his fault. Erik Morales and Prince Naseem avoided him like he had leprosy! Marquez is a terrific fighter. He is a bit better than Barrera. He ain't Salvador Sanchez though!

yes he has, he was the only mexican not to be knocked out by manny pacman... morales and barrera/etc. all got ko'd.....

he might not be inducted into the hall of fame, but he had accomplished a lot... thanks to manny though...

I myself am a Pacquiao fan, but the Barrera fight was a huge win as was the draw with Pac during the first fight. if he didnt accomplish anything he wouldnt be in pound-for-pound list.

A clear winner was NOT determined when Pacquiao and Marquez met. I agree with Kellerman saying that Marquez beat Pacquiao TWICE.  I also believe he is Undefeted. I felt that he beat Chris John.

Will he make it to the hall of fame? Possibly, but he will always be overshadowed by Barrera and Morales.

all of jmm loses could have gone his way. He never really lost decivecily.morales and nazeem ducked him and jmm career ain't over yet so he still has a chance of being a hall of famer
