  1. Lake Orta is a far better lake and neither it nor Garda are that popular with Brits. Garda is not that snobbish really. Nothing like Lake Como.


  2. Too expensive and flash for normal people only good for those than think they are special.

    Lake Iseo is much better value and a better place to go.

  3. don't know about the Brits, but lots of Irish go there.

  4. only snobs one as is too expensive...most of tourist are from germany and they even settled there....

  6. Same experience with Germans, I go to Como also.  Even Venezia after September is worth it.

  7. Dont agree with any of the answers below.

    I went there last year, enjoyed my visit, but it was spoilt by too many rude Germans.

    I would go back and would also try Lake Como - George Cloony has a villa here.

  8. Lago di Garda is a major tourist destination for Germans as they only have to drive over the Brenner pass to get there, whereas the Brit usually fly to Italy and aim for destinations further south.
