And his gallant comrades, by power sharing with the unionists in Ireland? Did these brave men sacrifice their lifes for nothing, only to be sold down the river by their own

  1. Absolutely!

  2. No i dont think they have, the time was right to call a ceasefire and enter into talks, people just had enough of the killing and nobody in the north has looked back since. Bobby sands and the other hunger strikers did what they thought was right in 1981, so i think adams and mcguiness must be given credit for doing what they think is right for the people now.

  3. Whatever is said publicly, most Republicans regard the present situation as transitional.  I don't believe the Republican casualties of the Troubles died in vain, any more than did the heroes of 1916.

Orange state terrorism has been ended, and so-called Loyalist violence has greatly diminished - the people of the North of Ireland are safer than they have been for three generations.

The foundations have been laid - whatever anyone says - for reunification to come, as cross border institutions become federal institutions, and as both Britain and Ireland become increasingly part of a European whole.

Martin Maguiness and Gerry Adams have put their lives on the line to take us another step on the long road to a Nation Once Again, just as Michael Collins (my grandfather's old commander) did.

  4. I agree with Saoirse!

  5. Something had to be done to bring the sorrows of the people of Ulster to an end. Northern Ireland is now governed by both communities, please give them a chance to make prosperity return to the whole Provence. There has been enough bloodshed on both sides of the religious divide to last a life time. I cant answer for the  hunger strikers, or their families, im sure some  one will. But i hope the politicians grasp this opportunity to give the people of Ulster the hope and prosperity their country deserves. If Adams, Robinson, Mguiness, and Paisley can, then so should the whole of the decent civilized world

  6. No! Don't you worry, our forefathers' dream will soon be a reality!

  7. No, I do not believe they have, the situation is not black and white, and sometimes compromise, while not popular with all must be made for the good of the majority.
