Some older guys i know always talk about stocks they could have got into & rode it from a few cents to acouple hundred/share

but MSFT chart for the past 20yrs says its never been over $60

did the stock split or something & thats why its not on the chart or do these guys just not know as much as they claim

(of course if they WOULD'VE bought MSFT under $1 in the late 80's & sold it for over $50/share they would've made an unimaginable return)

  1. You were right.  I looked since 1986 and there hasn't been a time when it over $100 per share.  The highest I saw was right around $58 and some change.

Yahoo on the other hand did hit $101 and some change in '00!!  :o

  2. It has split MANY times

  3. it has probably split many times so that $60 figure take that into account - if it had never split, it would probably bve higher than Google's stock

  4. MSFT has been well over $100 many times.  In fact, in March of '99, it hit $179.94.

The high prices don't show up on the charts because most are adjusted for splits, of which there were many.
