  1. Yes, the whole entity was based on the values, (or lack of) of the Left. It was especially obvious during the Clinton administration when they were at work, almost full time, trying to defend Bill's behavior. For a short time in 1999, they did publicly announce that their news and views would attempt to become more balanced. And I could tell they were actually attempting to do so. But the residing back to the Left slowly crept back in after about a year. And has been that way since. And yes, they use tax dollars, along with donations from the public Left. I heard what the ratio was in taxes (the Left love those taxes) and donations, but I don't remember now.

  2. I enjoy very much listening to NPR.  Not just political reports they have lots of stories about Americana and they do in-depth stories.  Far left maybe but  I can sort it out.  This week I followed very closely their reports from the China disaster zone and they have a reporter in Burma.  These reporters have described the horrific sights and the gut wrenching suffering of the earthquake and cyclone survivors with no need for photos.  The anonymous reporter in Burma calls on a cell he has attempted to get to the Delta but is turned back by the military every time.  They depend on listener support and  government funding has been greatly reduced.  I crave their reporting it's a breath of honest, fresh air that dares to speak the truth.

  3. I try to pay attention to bias in my news and find that NPR does a good job with there coverage of reporting facts and have guests representing both left and right views with equal time in opinion pieces.  (David Brooks and David Frum are regulars).

I agree that lately it seems that coverage of the Democratic Primary Nomination is a bit excessive but I think it is like that throughout all media outlets including the right leaning ones.  I hope once it has been settled then more balanced coverage will return.

I included a couple of sources to help you come to your own conclusion.

And yes our taxpayer dollars is part of there source of income.

  4. No---and I would say theyre more centrist than far-left--sorry

  5. It is theivery that our tax dollars go to a radio program that is left leaning and not very profitable, and those same type of radio programs on the right (who are successful) have to do on their own know how and ingenuity.
