Has Need your help: has relaxers changed the curl pattern of my hair? [pic included]?

Question

I ve use relaxers since i was 5 years old, and since then i use them till then my mother put the relaxers everytime form root to ends..after doing this for many years she realized that made a mistake and was only supposed to apply it to new growth..now my hair, is never curl, but it kind of wavy, dry, and have a lot of ssplitends.

do i need to start over aagainwith my real hair, just because it's change due to chemicals, or do i have a chance to get back to the ways it was before?
