Question:

Has Palin stolen the show away from Obama?

Hasn't McCain's timing in announcing his choice for VP been just perfect?

Doesn't it seem like Obama has become a non-issue since McCain's VP announcement? Do you think Obama expected to be getting more mileage out of his "great" speech at the DNC Prom, and now everybody is obsessed with the Palin story instead?

  1. LOL.  Clearly McCain made a political move.  Of course, politics is only political when the Republican candidate blows the lid off the election immediately following the Democratic Convention.

If John could bottle all that thunder he stole from Obama on this one...

  2. Yes, and get ready to fight as these panicked libs try to rip her to shreds in the weeks to come...

  3. Not yet but during the swimsuit competition...... definitely.

  4. Obama's speech has boosted his rating 4 or 5 points. What Obama was going to get from that he has already gotten.

Palin will be old news the moment everyone realizes that it isn't great to preach about a person with no foreign policy experience. Obama has had life long exposure to other cultures. Palin has been in Alaska all of that time.

  5. Clearly McCain made a political move in selecting Palin.  Purely political.

Of course, publicity is good only if it's good publicity.

  6. I haven't heard much about Obama's speech on tv even today.  I'm still hearing about McCain's choice of VP and now that people are learning about who Sarah Palin is and what she stands for, people are getting excited.

    Raising McCain '08

  7. Yes.  I hope Obama melts into a puddle of p**s and vinegar.

  8. Yes, it's interesting how a pretty woman can distract people so much. If McCain had selected an old, male Republican as his VP, there would be none of this. Obama will probably have a tantrum over not being the center of attention, like he has been for the last several months.

  9. Maybe not in the way you think.

IM fearful that something went terribly wrong at the DNC Koolaid fest in Denver.. Maybe this move was just a rouse to hide the removal of the bodies from the stadium!!

Its been awful quiet. MY GOD! I hope everything is alright.

  10. if becoming a person who is beaten down every minute is a "good thing" then yes...

  11. I would say it it safe to say that Obama is upset to say the least

  12. Yes, McCain's choice was brilliant! Now who said he was too old? The older the better, as Ronald Reagan was and the Liberals loved him. And the younger, female he chose, well all the better for the young Liberal men to get a crush on, and learn that that woman is as wise as the old owl!

  13. The obsession with Sarah Palin is due to the media scrambling to research her background (unknown) and stance on vital issues a potential president faces (Palin's is a blank page).  According to Fox, Governor Palin obviously has a grasp of foreign policy because her state of Alaska in so close in proximity to Russia.  As for Senators Obama and Biden, their appearances at the DNC this week set historical precedence that will forever be remembered that each speaker has a thorough knowledge of the most important issues of our time , grace (Senator Clinton) and dignity (President Clinton).

  14. And a welcomed relief it is - a short break from the glitz and glamor of "Change we can believe in."

  15. Yes.

And would you look at this?  Bush brought in Gustav.  Another whole week without Barack and another hurricane right behind Gustav.  Unbelievable.  Maybe, just maybe, the Republicans will have to move their convention up a few weeks and guess what?  A THIRD week and NO Barack.  Oh my, what will we do?!

  16. Republicans are way too bitter and way too competitive about this.  This is about the future of our country, not one-upping your opponents.  Stop acting like children and think about what this election really means.

(P.S.  How can Obama become a non-issue when he's running for president?)

  17. i think it was a dandy move, very smart. this is politics and also a wise move for himself. people are saying purely political , well that is also true and it isnt. She is smart, has leadership ability, obviously pro-life, just the real deal in my opinion. i am pretty good at spotting a fake when i see one. and she comes across as tough and dont mess with me kinda gal. just my kinda lady.

  18. Sure everyone's talking about Palin... but not necessarily in a positive way. It seems to me that the general discussion is surrounding just who she is and why (other than to capture disgruntled feminist Clinton supporters) McCain would pick her as VP
