No, he didn't run out of ideas. In fact, it is probably his idea, and that Everton was the one hijacking it. You see, Rafa benitez will only sign players who are Spanish, enough said, and Riera is a Spanish.

Ridiculous, Liverpool has been looking at Riera since the end of last season.  He was basically third choice behind David Silva and Barry.  He has a lot of skill, and has improved since his loan spell at Man City.
