Has Steven Strait ever commented on how everyone sees him as Jacob Black from Twilight?

Many people wish he had been picked to be Jacob, and he is usually used in videos about Jacob on you tube. Did he even try out for the part though? and if he has commented on the fact that many see him as Jacob, what did he say?

How 'bout, let's get a real Native American to play the part of the.... Native American character.  Neither actors are anywhere near that nationality.

But I am familiar with the shortage of actors in that nationality.

I think the pick for Jacob is fine.  But I know other people who were upset because of him not being a Native American.

In all this regard, the actor playing Sam is PERFECT!

I'm pretty sure he didn't try out for the part and hasn't said anything about it. But I agree he would have been great as the part!

Well, Catherine Hardwicke is known for making films that are accurate and stays true to the characters. And, though Taylor Lautner is perhaps a bit too pretty (c'mon, you know that Jacob's not that super model good looking), he does fit the bill with his age and the fact that he will mature and age accordingly. IMHO, Steven Strait is just too old for the role of Jacob.
