Yes! For one, it has made the country more globalised and relevant to today's society.

I believe so - and it has benefited the rest of the world too.  I love the opportunity to work with people from India that come here they are hardworking, intelligent, have natural amazing computer skills and are pleasant and easy to work with.  As far as benefiting India, a country with poverty levels that are horrifying, in my opinion of course the infusion of Western money to enhance educational and employment opportunities has benefited India.
