I've been following the case about the case of little Darisabel Baez.

This poor little 2 year old girl was beaten to death by her mothers boyfriend and the mother did nothing to stop it. The details are very awful and this news story has affected me A LOT. I cry when I think of it, I feel angry and depressed and it's really affecting my day to day life. I'll stop short of saying I'm becoming obsessed with it. Here is a link to what I'm talking about but be warned, it's very sad and I would not want anyone else feeling like I am right now.

To make it worse, they've updated saying the reason why this poor lil baby was beaten to death - because her diaper exploded onto the floor. The so called "mother" has also been charged along with her boyfriend with murder for doing nothing to stop the vicious beating. How could anyone be so evil? Anyways, this story has really affected me and I need advice on how to deal with the hurt it's causing me. I can't stop thinking of this baby and what she went through. And I can't imagine how a mother could sit there and let the baby be beaten to death. If it were me I would have killed that man myself. No question in my mind. Anyone else ever been profoundly affected by a news story like this? How do you handle it and try not to let it affect you so much emotionally? I am 8 months along and have a little girl not much younger then Darisabel was. I think that's why I am hurting so much for her.

Here is another link to the story with Darisabels picture.

Who could hurt this precious little angel? Why God did this have to happen?

  1. There are some really sick people out in the world today.  Just be careful that you don't run into them.    Protect your children!!

  2. very sad story indeed, poor poor little girl. i have seen many of this type of stories, as a mother i can not understand how she could do nothing,i would have killed him using any method possible (and then probably served 10 years in jail due to uk law) no way would someone get away with hurting my child.

i stopped reading the news because of such stories, unfortunately the world is filled with evil people, and the nice story's don't get printed as much as the bad ones.

i was once told by someone i consider very intelligent "there is no point in worrying/stressing about something you cant change",

try and remember that when you are stressing out about what happened to this poor little girl, yes its sick and horrible, and it hard to understand but worrying about it isnt going to change what happened.

you are feeling what most normal compassionate humans feel, it is normal hun do not worry

  3. Look at it this way.  If the girl had survived what kind of person would she turn out to be when raised by these savages?  The world is probably better off when people like this kill their own offspring.  Just consider it a type of eugenics.

  4. I sympathize with your sadness and horror.  This kind of event is antithetical to civilized ideas about the treatment of innocent childre .

But you surely don't believe that this is the first time children have been horribly abused, do you?

Look up what Martha Nussbaum and her husband (a physician) did to their adopted children.

Try to count the number of little children who are killed or mutilated daily in Iraq due to the "War on Terror"!

  5. These stories really affect me so for that reason I just can't and won't read the details.  It would bother me as much as it does you and by me reading them it wouldn't change anything for the poor little children.  I'm a great grandmother and just don't understand these so- called parents.

  6. I totally understand. I feel the same way about the Jessica Lunsford story. It bothered me for a long time and actually, I was so bothered by it that I just stopped watching the news. It pre-occupied my thoughts for way too long.

You feel like you're betraying the baby by not following the story but for your own sanity, you need to stop following the story. The public will have its revenge on the monsters that hurt the poor baby and, unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about it.

Just pray for the baby and stop watching the news for a while. Also, volunteering to help children's organizations will make you feel better.

Put your mental health first and good luck.

  7. These stories affect all of us, but there's not a thing we can do about it.  I've always thought the guilty should be subjected to the same torture and death, but that's revenge, not justice.  I think these people should be put to death immediately without any long appeal process.
