Has a relationship you've had with someone ever gotten to this point?

I've known someone for years and this person has brought me nothing but drama and garbage that I don't need. It's gotten to the point where I can respect and appreciate them only if they leave me alone and don't speak to me. Have you ever felt this way about someone, too?

  1. Unfortunately yes.

If the relationship is toxic toward you let it go and distance yourself.

  2. I have - with friends and boyfriends. A lot of times it is simply that the person has always been that way but I was the one who grew and moved past it, or left them.

Sometimes though, it's a matter of putting it into perspective. I have a friend who is full of drama, and everything is about her. She has to have the better stuff. She has to be 'in the know' on everything, and she's very materialistic. They aren't qualities I respect, but deep down, I know she's a good person. She's loyal as a friend, she cares, and she is very expressive of her opinion, which I like.

In lieu of cutting her out I limit my time around her. I don't want to cut her out of  my life, but I certainly don't want to hang around her all the time. So, once every couple months we get together, and it works.

Now if you have a bf like that, I would recommend leaving. Once the respect goes, so does the love.

  3. yes. and she's obnoxiously stupid.

  4. if you are spending more energy on a person than you want to then end the relationship
