  1. Not in recent history anyway. But, understand the reason the President wasn't there. I think it was a good move on his part.


  2. I know Janet is right about Johnson, but I wonder about his VP? Did Humphrey go to the convention? If so, this is unprecedented.

  3. President Johnson was the last one not to attend.  It was because of the Viet Nam issue.
