Books just don't seem to be enough. I think that maybe it's better to find out from people who have actually been there or lived there for some period of their life. The travel books aren't exactly the best thing but they do help. I guess I'm just searching for more help. I know I can look myself but like I said some of you lucky people have actually been there. I just need some of the places and landmarks and stuff like that.

  1. I don't agree with the previous answer: Andalucia is great! I've been there three times now.

The Alhambra at Granada is a must see, and so is Cordoba, Ronda, the white villages, Sevilla, Jerez.

    Beautiful surf beaches near Tarifa.

I did not fancy Gibraltar too much, except for the apes...

On another note: Barcelona is also very beautiful.

  2. Haven't seen it all, but I really enjoyed Malaga, and the region near Gibraltar is just wonderful, especially Cadiz.

  3. It depends on how long you can be there because most of Spain is marvelous. Asturias (gijon) with its beaches and mountains is beautiful in the North very near of it you have GAlicia, its rias have very nice landscapes. But in the South you have VAlencia beaches to enjoy and a lot of churches and squares or Granada with its ancient history about Moros notto speak about its palaces and Barcelona. Ok Ilove Spain but it would not be easyto choose only one place if you have a little time to be there

  4. My favs:

Madrid -- great art museums and history, love the Plaza Mayor and the National Palace

Barcelona -- check out anything by Gaudi, especially Parc Guell, and the Olympic Stadium

Cordoba -- has beautiful orange trees -- check out the Mezquita (Mosque)

Asturias -- great countryside -- check out the peaks of Europe and Oviedo (a very cute town)

El Escorial -- an old monastery about an hour from Madrid -- all of the kings of Spain are buried there

These are just a few.  I've never disliked any city in Spain.  Every province is very different, so start in a big city (like Madrid) and do some side trips to see what the smaller towns (like Avila or Segovia) are like.  You will love Spain!

  5. I went to Ibiza, Barcelona, Seville and Costa del Sol.  Ibiza is definitely beautiful and a whole lot of fun.  Barcelona is weird but interesting to see.  I had never seen so many TransSexuals before.  Seville is not to be missed.  I think it is what I wanted Spain to be.  It has all the old Moorish stuff.  I hear Granada and Cadiz are good for that too.  Costa del Sol is really beautiful and good for a party as well but there is lots to see around there.  It is close to Granada, Gibralter, Seville and you can even take a ferry to Morroco.  I have traveled all over and I really loved Spain.

  6. Ibiza, Palma de Majorca, Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante.

  7. Alicante, my father in law has a villa there. It is beautiful. Also Granada and Ibizia.

  8. Spain is beautiful, but I would stay out of the Andalucia region,  It is comparable to Bronx NY in terms of economy and society.  Lots of crime there.  Barcelona is beautiful as is Mallorca.

  9. ive been to magaluf, santa ponsa and costa del sol and i loved them all. i really liked gran canaria though, its very lively as is magaluf and not just for youngsters on their first hols.  my mums currently in portugal and loves it.
