  1. For well over 30 years, my cousins (with Welsh roots) have been the best of friends with their neighbours (originally from Pakistan) and live happily in Southern England.

Both families have children the same age who've always gone to school together.

The Pakistani family have a very long surname and difficult to pronounce and , locally , they have always been referred to as 'The Pakis and The Taffs'.

A few years ago , my cousin's son was expelled from school after a teacher heard him using the name 'p**i' to his mate.

Mrs p**i (as she is known ) went to the school and pleaded with the headmaster etc to re-instate 'Taff' .

She explained that they were proud to called 'Pakis' because that's where they came from and , if anything, 'Taff' was a more derogotory name as , in the rhyme,'Taffy was a Welshman, Taffy was a thief'.

It took quite a few weeks but in the end 'Taff' was let back into school

Everyone should be proud of their roots

  2. Yes.......no reaction ..jus a simple smile n ignore him.......

  3. i be like; "word, I am p**i...you wanna challenge me to a game of Cricket?"

  4. I am from Glasgow, and the word p**i is usually refferred to in a friendly manner, as is tali (Italian), froggy(French), and Gerry (German). None of them racist. I am getting sick of people who tell me what I should say and what not.

I bet I am more tolerant of all nations than most of these do-gooders.

  5. lol

I'm oriental asian and so obviously I have never been called a 'p**i'.

And this question is not only pointless but it is also racist.

    You must be really bored.

  6. Surprisingly no. I was actually born' n bred in England - parents are from Pakistan. But even then, if you're brown in England, you will always be referred to as a p**i. But no-one bluntly has called out "p**i".....

  7. You are what you are so why get upset about it.  I call my husband a Greecer.  Does he get upset about it?  No.

  8. No but I've been called whitey and h****y and let it roll off my back.  If you get wrapped up in some silliness like that and get puffed up over words, then that is your own weakness.

  9. go to wolverhampton city centre if you want to hear the word 'p**i'.

i have heard it many times

  10. Don't let the bigots call you a racist.

You are entitled to your views and who are they to tell you that you are wrong.

  11. u have a racist mind if u are intrested in things like that

  12. No

and to the above answer I think alot of English people know that not all asian people are from pakistan

  13. One of the children in my year 5 class called himself a p**i. I said he shouldn't as it's an offensive term... he didn't understand why it could possibly be offensive, seeing as it means 'clean'.

How do you explain to a 10 year old that the world is racist?!
