  1. no, nobody is because it is a dumb idea

  2. Yeah, lots of people comply, then two days later they ALL go fill their tanks up.  Really bright.

  3. A lot of analysts have predicted that even a minor gas strike is not going to lower the cost of gas.  I've seen a lot of e-mails and my thoughts are that while its a peaceful protest, Oil companies are not going to reduce their prices.

More daring and drastic actions would be for people to either: 1.stop driving all together.  This would work to some degree, because the most fuel consuming traffic on the roads are all the cars, trucks, suvs, and other vehicles of the such.  If the only users of gasoline were the semi-truck drivers, and the long-line trains, fuel prices would drop because demand would drop and supply would boom.  The problem with this action is getting enough people to say "I will not drive anywhere anymore" and have them commit to them for at least the summer.

    2. The second and more drastic action would be to steal the fuel.  Yes...its illegal, yes, its also not completely possible because some gas stations require you to prepay before you pump...and again, it requires a nation of people to do it.  I say that because if the whole nation does it, its a political message to the government that says "We are tired of paying for these prices, and demand you do something about it." and it says it with action.  The results of doing so could be devastating to an economy though.  If everyone did it, word would get around very quickly, and all fuel depots would be ordered to shut down.  But, that effect would be enough to draw attention from the government and for them to take action and quickly.

The issue as to what to do is divided among our individual needs.  Some of us, can't go without commuting on a daily basis and deal with the issue as best as they can, some of us find alternative ways around the problem, and some have just quit driving all together in protest.

If we (everyone), dare to get results, everyone must be united, and agreeing to the same action, and stick to that action for whatever period of time requires us too.

  4. What if we all WALK, or CARPOOL to work on WEDNESDAYS to cut cost on GAS?

If nobody bought gas on wednesday's and either walked, rode bike, carpooled, bus, or other, we could put a huge dent on gas prices!!! if everybody that reads this passes the info along and copies and pastes it in email to every one in their contact list, eventually more people would catch on to the fad and gas prices would eventually drop.

    INDIVIDUAL RESONSIBILITY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  5. I hadn't heard about it.  Since there is no public transportation that goes to my work and my coworkers do not live near me, I must buy gasoline every 3 days.

I don't think a gas strike will work.  We could strike against one or two companies, but not all.
