no, not in the three main series running now. they talked about that quite a bit last year when carl got into the chase while he was dominating the busch series points race - he had a chance, albeit a small one, to be the first. and he's thinking about that possibility this year again, i'm sure.

as far as i can find, only two drivers have won championships in different series ever: bobby labonte won the busch championship in 1991 and the cup championship in 2000. also, greg biffle won the truck championship in 2000 and the busch championship in 2002.

if edwards can win the cup this year, he will join labonte as the only driver to win championships in busch/nationwide and cup. and if johnny benson goes on to win the truck championship this year, he will join biffle as the only driver to win championships in busch/nationwide and in trucks.

Jeff Green won in the Busch of that year.
