Question:

Has any hockey team ever crammed their own net with the entire line?

If a team got ahead, say 3 zip, and it was late in the third period; what would the rule book say if the entire line decided to huddle in the net with the goal tender, allowing very little, to no room, for the puck to enter the net? I know this would be pretty classless, but has it ever been done? Or, to the same effect, has anyone ever contemplated putting in a 1000 pound goalie in the nets? He could just sit there eating doughnuts while being peppered with shots. I suppose with a limit to pad size, the big fella would be some sore the next day!

  1. A 1000 lb goalie would not be an option, the equipment could not be made big enough. Besides I am pretty sure there are regulations in the size of the leg and arm padding.

  2. haha the first time my brother watched hockey he asked the same thing, and whats funny is i didnt have an answer...

but if it were to my opinion i would say that a 1000lb goalie wouldnt have much cousion when it comes to pads and those FROZEN pucks commin 90 MPH. OUCH.. you wouldnt have the worlds fattest man anymore. :)and as for cramming you team, i dont think its possible cuz the net would come up and even if it could happen, i havent seen it yet

  3. Eh, to be honest if the whole line huddled in the blue paint, not defending the puck, I'm pretty sure the other team could slip it in, and you can't force the net off of it's mourings, so I doubt that ever happened, but I really don't know haha

A 1000 pound goalie? He probably couldn't lift his arm to eat a doughnut if he was 1000 pounds, and that's a lot of money on over-sized goalie equipment!

  4. interference, because ou weren't forced into the net, and weren't trying to get out, and i don't think 1000 pounds could stand up on two feet!
