Has any one Been out to the Los Banos Reservoir in Los Banos CA?

I Have a friend who lives in Los Banos California He invited me and my girlfriend to go camping and party at the local reservoir. Has any been out there and can you tell me any thing about it.

It's OK, but it's HOT. I think I'd rather bake my head in the oven than be in the central valley this time of year. But if you've got nothing better going on here, you might as well go.

Basically, it's a reservoir stuck out in the middle of dry, rolling hills.

Nice place to camp, but trust me on this. Take LOTS of mosquito repellent.

Yes, it's interesting, and it's near some other interesting places.  I will always think of Casa de Fruta when I think of Los Banos.

I got the following from a website on Los Banos:  "you can find hunting, fishing, hiking, sailing, swimming, picnicking, camping, boating, sailboarding, off-roading, trapshooting, equestrian activities, grasslands, reservoir activities, bird watching and a lot more."

If you're going now, it will be hot and dry ~ afraid it's that time of year in the Central Valley.
