I have, but it's kind of convoluted and doesn't involve orphanages or foster homes. My parents divorced when I was 7. A few years later my birth mother gave up any sort of rights to me and my brother, so my dad's new wife (who I now considered my mom) adopted me and my brother.

My gr/grandparents adopted their first child, because they had been told they would never have any children of their own, they went on to have *twelve* children naturally, so they had thirteen children in all.
