Has any one been on norweigian sun or norweigian pearl to alaska?

2 adults 4 kids ages 15, 13, 11 and 8.

should we go on either of these ships?

I personally do not like the Norweigian Cruise Lines. We just took them to Mexico (cozumel, belieze, progresso) last December.

Here is what I did not like:

Freestyle Meals (long lines, you are always stuck with other

   people, too casual, always different waiters etc)

Boring (not great for kids, they cater to seniors)

Not enough activities to keep busy

They really do not cater to kids

My biggest Gripe is that you do not get easy access to drinks. Let me explain:

You get bottles of water in your room but they cost $5 each. That adds up really fast. You can buy a soda pass for unlimited soda (at the bars) but that was something like $20-$30 each. So what do you drink all day?

There was only one spot in the cafeteria where you could go in most of the time to get a drink but it was on the top deck at the back of the ship. What a hastle that was. Plus they only had hot tea, coffee and water. It was like they expected you to buy these soda passes. I was so upset. We do not drink soda all day long and can you just imagine the calories you are getting when you could be drinking water. Once they have you on board you are stuck and with nothing to drink except at meals. I am getting sick to just think about it again.

I would never take kids on Norweigan. Too many Seniors. Try Carnival where you should have a great time or even Royal Carribean.
