Has any one been to El Pueblito of Richmond?

I just ate there and I fell in love with that place.

I liked it. I enjoyed the food (Central American instead of Mexican) but found the drinks to be waaaaaayyyy pricey. Mango margaritas were very good, but not worth the price. The fried plantains with sour cream are a great appetizer!

The other down side? Parking bites. You either pay their valet... (VALET??? IN THIS PLACE?) or park a block away because the neighboring restaurants forbid you to park in their lot. Oh, and unless you drive a BlingMobile like a Beemer or Hummer or Mercedes, the valets park you down the street. The proprieters really could, and should, move to a better location. Yes, I know some of the locals would get their birkenstocks in a bind, but cést la vie!

EDIT: For CookingPancakes: Where is this place on Highway 6? It doesn't show up on b4-u-eat, and I'd like to try it.

I've been there but wasn't sold on the place.  Like the answerer above, I do like the one on Highway 6 at Clay Road.

Isn't it the some good food! I personaly loved the empanadas, and the bistek encebollado! Oh man that was some good food! It made dodo's look like c**p! LOL!

There are 2 restaurants on Richmond Ave. with similar names:

El Pueblito Place - Yes I have been there.  I do like it but you need to realize it is not a Mexican Food place but a Central American Food place.  There is a difference.

Mi Pueblito - no I have never been there.

I am not sure if there may be a similar named restaurant in Richmond, TX

It's OK, La Viña in the same shopping center is better through. I have to admit it is better than Dodo's next door..... I cant remember the name of another place but its on Hwy 6 close to Clay Rd. it's really good too.
