  2. No, it will be expensive

  3. We looked at the smaller wind turbines but could not see how they could produce enough energy to be cost effective. In this price range they do not appear to be very robust either, our concern was that if we bought one it would need replacing before it ever generated enough electricity to pay for itself, if you have not physically seen any, then go and have a look.

We looked at the much bigger ones too, at the minute these too did not appear to be cost effective when we did rough workings and the financial investment is massive, sometimes not paying back for twenty years. We are waiting until prices drop before we look at the issue again.

Solar panels are much more cost effective, particularly if you install yourself as the cost is all in the installation. They are fragile but relatively easy to install. Our whole system designed to heat all our hot water was just under £1,000, self installed. Obviously this will soon pay back the investment then we will have free hot water. If we move house, it is relatively easy to take them with us too, but I am certain they would be a great selling point.

  4. No because they are having problems getting planning approval, how smart is that,

  5. no,but were'nt B&Q dishing them out at just over £1400?.and also solar  panels for a similar price.

I will consider it for the future

  6. why are the windmills not made with a lifetime guarantee>???

They could easily be made to last a lifetime.

but to make company's profitable consumers must re buy!

disposable society makes them uneconomical so the company's make more profits.

    capitalism should be illegal.

i always wanted a windmill, preferabley made of wood so i could also use it to grind wheat ;)

DO you know how much unbleached milled and sifted flour costs. Bloody capitalists.
