I just opened an e-mail informing me that I had won a substantial amount of money from the Yahoo International Lottery Organization. I think it's just another scheme trying to get money out of people. But I have entered some contest so I thought I should check it out since it is a nice chunk of cash that they are talking about. Thanks for any input.

  1. everybody has received that.

its not real.  it is a scam.

  2. This is a SCAM. Check out the below link for confirmation of various email scams hitting the internet and how to report them :

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or...

Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Just remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace, hopefully along with the thieving scumbags who send them.

  4. Scam.  There is no Yahoo International Lottery.  You are deluding yourself into thinking you won something that does not exist.  Delete that thing ASAP.  Give them no personal information or your bank accounts will be cleaned out.

  6. As the others have said.  it is a scam.  Do Not Give your information to these people.

think of it this way: How can you win something you never entered yourself into in the first place?  Make sense?  Follow your senses.
