Has any one ever been to Elaine's restaurant in New York city.?

I have been there several times with a friend.  And yes, it is just as un-friendly and welcoming as you have read!

If you are not in a certain crowd, they could care less about you!  And Elaine is always there, giving undesireables the stink eye.  The food is not that great, I think people just go there to see and be seen.

I lived across the street from Elaine's in New York in the 1980's during its heyday. Paparazzi used to stand in groups at the corner. I met Ron Galella who had run-ins with Jackie O.  The restaurant had really great food and a nice casual ambience.  Woody Allen ate their quite often.
