Has any one ever heard of DCS 3010 Speakers?

These are powered tower speakers with build in subs that are on the side. Tehy have a cherry finish cab. Seem like they are very high quality but I can't find any info on them. Can anyone direct me? Thanks

DCS speakers are so-called "white van" speakers. It's one of the ripoff names they use to make you think they're a legitimate brand (in this case, they want you to think they're DTS speakers).

A white van scam is where some guys in a nondescript vehicle (usually a white van) pulls up and they ask if you want to buy some really great speakers. The story is usually that they just did a high-end installation of an audio system and the loading dock messed up. So, they have extra speakers that they want to unload for cheap. And, it's your lucky day.

Turns out the speakers are cheap junk, usually made in China or something, if they even work at all. So, it isn't until you get them home and listen to them that you realize something's not right. And, now you have no way to get your money back.

Some of these fake speaker companies even set up a fake website for the speakers they're trying to sell on eBay or Craigslist. The advertisement directs you to an official looking website that shows the "retail price" of the speakers, along with some bogus specs. You then think you're getting a really great deal on them. Sometimes, the scammers put up a couple of ads for the brand of speakers from two different sellers. One is very expensive and the other is relatively cheap. Again, you figure it's your lucky day and you found this great deal, only to end up with junk.

If you ever see a pair of speakers by a company you're never heard of, do a search on "white van speakers <company_name>". There are web sites out there warning about the white van scam that list all of the known bogus brand names.
