  1. I saw two at the same time.  It was rather startling.  It was in an apartment.  After several peculiar events, I asked the manager about things/sounds in my apartment.  That is when I learned of the elderly couple that lived in my building.  Apparently, they had a suicide pact.  The wife had terminal cancer.  The husband shot her, then shot himself.

Things in my apartment would move, appliances would come on(the washing machine was the main one.  Always using hot water too!) The blinds would sway back and forth, but there were no air vents or registers near them, things in my bathroom would suddenly be "thrown" from one side of the bathroom to the other, my rocking chair was always in the corner facing out when I would leave for work of a morning, but when I'd get home, it was always purshed up against my closet door.  And in the middle of the night, regardless of season, my furnace sounded like it was being beaten with a ball bat!  (That was very un-nerving to be woken up to in the middle of the night!)  Late one night, I was cleaning and saw "someone" walk from the bedroom to the kitchen.  When I went to see who it was, there was no one there.  Then I saw someone walk from the kitchen back to the bedroom(keep in mind, I lived by myself!) When I looked in my bedroom, there they stood!  Side by side with his arm around ther shoulder!  They were kinda grey and smokey looking, but you could make them out.  They looked happy and peaceful, but it was still startling!

  2. I've seen too many for comfort since I moved into my home 10 years ago.

I've met the previous owners of the house (they're both dead) and he introduced himself to me and told me his name (Mr. Yochum).

One night a something that wasn't visible tried to pull me off my bed by grabbing both ankles and pulling.

Doors and cabinets open by themselves.

I've seen many shadow people in my bedroom.

There was a little blonde girl who would watch me in my living room. She said her name was Suzanne (or Suzanna...it was hard to hear her).

Thomas is the one that likes to ride in the backseat of my car.

Things like this happen quite often around me.

  3. I've seen literally dozens of them. Usually, I start to get the weird feeling I'm being watched... you know. Then, if I pay close attention while looking around, I'll see something moving through the corner of my eye. If I turn my head slowly and don't blink, they come in to focus for a second.

Most of the time I feel them rather than actually see them. Which is like the being watched feeling but much more intense, to the point where I can tell how close they are.

To tell the truth, even after seeing them most of my life, I still can get scared out of my skin.

A couple of months ago, I was walking my dog through a nearby neighborhood full of very old houses. It dark, and most people had closed their blinds for the night.

As I was passing one house, I saw someone standing in the shadows on the porch. I turned and looked at them and nodded, like neighbors do. Suddenly I got a very strange feeling and my dog started growling and pulling away. The person remained shadowy, but literally flew towards us waving it's arms as if to say "You saw me! I saw it! You saw me!" All the hair on my body stood on end and I took off running with my dog. It followed us for about a block until it disappeared.

It wasn't someone wearing a costume, because costumes don't float.

I've avoided the house ever since. However, I occasionally see people from the corner of my eye wearing turn of the century clothing as I walk that neighborhood, day or night.

I hope that answers what it's like.

  4. i have seen ghosts in my life.  not all have scared me.  one of the best ones was on christmas day a few years ago...i had finished making the turkey and all the trimmings except the gravy.  it was bubbling on the stove and i sat down in the living room, where i could see the stove.  my daughter was in her room changing.  she was the only person home with me.  i caught a glimpse of movement near the stove and looked up to see a short figure wearing gray and looking over the pan of gravy.  i thought at first it was my daughter, because the figure was very solid.  i started to say, 'fay, will you please turn the gravy down', when the figure straightened and was drawn backwards and away from my sight with the sound of wind in reverse.  at the same moment, my daughter answered me from her room.  she hadn't left it yet and told me that she would stir the gravy just as soon as she got her shirt over her head.  i believe the ghost was the spirit of my father.  he was always very nosy about what was going on in the kitchen, loved to cook, and loved to eat!

  5. i did find it scary, but i was about 8 at the time. im pretty sure that if i saw one now i would be more interested than scared.

  6. i saw kids when i was younger, but i wasn't scared and don't exactly remember how they looked, but they were regular kids to me, 2 of them.

  7. One night I was driving down a dark road, and yes, between to cemeteries, all of a sudden I could NOT see. I had to come to a complete stop, I turned my lights to high beams and still could not see! Not even the painted lines on the road. I can not explain how strange it was (husband thinks in nuts) but have you ever shined a flashlight on nothing? It illuminates the dark but only to show more darkness? Well, that's what my lights were doing, even on high beams. After about 25-30 seconds at a full stop (no one else on the road thankfully) things started to come back to view. I was freaked out! I started driving back home with the horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.

The next day driving the same road, construction was forcing me to take this route, I was convinced I would get in an accident in that area. I was a nervous wreck. I would put off going home just to avoid that road. It wasn't just a feeling of paranoia, in my mind it was fact i would get in an accident on that road. Same as today the sun will come out....some time soon some one is going to hit me on Government Way.

For a two weeks this feeling went on, every time I knew I had to take that road I would get tense. But being as stubborn as I am I refused to drive 20 mins out of my way to take another bridge across the river.

May 28th 2008 I was in an accident. Not on that road but 2 miles up. I was at a dead stop waiting for on coming traffic to clear so I could make a left hand turn. The car behind me didn't even hit his brakes. I was hit at 50 miles an hour, my SUV was spun into oncoming traffic, thankfully I was not hit a second time. Here it is August 15th and I am still receiving medical care from that accident.

The day after it happened I was nervous about driving, like anyone is after being hit, but I am no longer afraid of Government Way.

I feel I was being warned. Thankfully I took that warning and rechecked my son's car seat, when I did I found one of his Latch clips had come undone. The reason my 2 yr olds injuries were minor is because his seat was installed properly.

Some information about that part of Government Way. My brother in law is buried in one of the cemeteries (I became pregnant with my son with in the week after his death) The cemetery on the other side of the street id home to 1000 steps.

I can't say I have ever believed in ghosts, but I have never disregarded them either. I still don't know what happened on that road that night but my suspicions were proven true.

  10. seen a ghost? no. expierienced a spirit? possibly. only real story i have is when me and some friends did a seance in an apartment. it was a really warm night during the summer. when attempting to get a spirit we didnt think we were starting to get any luck. when we were told to open out eyes we looked around and the candles in the room were started to flicker like there was a breeze in the room. what was stranger was that they all flickered toward the center of our circle. we continued with what we were doing and the room turned from a warm room to a really cold room. almost cold enough to need a coat or a sweatshirt. we even started to feel like someone was tapping on our sholders and arms and there were creeks in parts of the house where there normally werent creeks and we event heard tapping on the table that was in the kitchen. once it was all over we all tried to go over what happend. it all felt like it was all a dream and we were also starting to debate if it was real or not. but how could it not of happend if we all remember the same thing.

im not saying that it was a real spirit that i dealt with but it was really strange. so it could have been

  11. I have never seen a real spirit(that is there correct term, not ghost or ghast). From the testimony of many witnesses we have learned that these apparitions are blurry images, or transparent copies of the person from back when they are alive. There are even instances in which they are said to look and maybe be solid. Many times, they are only heard, audible, not able to be seen. Some "experts" say that a spirit can show itself if it wishes, but if it doesn't want to be seen, it can make itself invisible. As for what a spirit is, we can never really trust what other people tell us until we see one for ourself. So while we should do alot of research and try to speak to witnesses, we should also remain skeptical. Good day to you.
