  1. You can also ask a jeweler if they have insurance coverage.  I know that Chubb used to, but I agree with the other respondent.  If you have homeowners, try to add it to that first.  Blue Nile has information on insuring your ring too!  Congratulations!!

  3. If you have homeowners insurance, you add it onto that policy.  I've never heard of the company you mentioned but if it's something you found online, you may be better off calling a local agent for a quote.

    Congrats on your engagement.

  4. Well, sure, I've heard of Jewelers Mutual, but it's not the best way to insure your ring.  The best, cheapest coverage, is going to be adding it by endorsement onto a renters policy.  Even if you don't rent, you can buy a renters policy.

Any stand alone policy is going to cost more, have a deductible, and will likey have fewer perils insured against.

  5. Jewelers Mutual has been around for a VERY long time, and is very reputable.  If you have a homeowner's or renter's policy, you can have the value of the ring (appraisal required) added to that insurance as a rider.  If not, feel free to contact Jewelers Mutual for a quote.
