  1. I have read up a bit on it in the past as I had a number of acres on an electric company easement. There seemed to be some unproven claims that insects seemed to be more a problem in these areas, but statistics on events are just a manipulation of numerical results that all too often can be read and misinterpreted dependent on the researcher and their claim. The effect seems to be benign but there are always dissenters pressing the issue.

  2. informally, yes,....

    it's called electroculture....

I used metal gardening fence for my veggies last year.... with a control sample nearby.... the fenced veggies did much better....

same with watermelon (used...empty coffee cans)....

I think there is a valid argument to be made regarding plants and negative ions in the air (let alone, a low charged metal conduit nearby)...

it goes without saying that training your veggies up a metal fence provides many benefits beyond the electric theory....

including.... less prone to mildew, and certain pests, more opportunities for leaves to receive light. etc...

this train of thought is just the tip of the iceburg within quantum physics....metaphysics....

consider reading up on kirilian photography (sp?) and cymantics (sp?) both phenomena have huge implications for scientific exploration and life as we know it...

  3. Yes, many companies have.  I hate using pesticides - especially from Monsanto and Dow (Round Up, Agent Orange manufacturers).  I used copper pipe to line my veggies/fruits areas with, and the caterpillars got a little "shock" every time they tried to crawl over the pipe.  They stayed away.  I have no idea how to explain something I have no training in, but on a large scale, those creating a monopoly over the world food supply (like Monsanto) have thoroughly researched it.  The scum.
