  1. Are you talking about Similac Go and Grow?

I'm using this for my son.  He had no problems with the switch and is happy with it.

The only reason I switched is because it's so much cheaper than the stuff I was buying before and I'm completely broke as it is.

  2. I have read that it is more sugary than regular infant formula and pretty much not necessary when you can just keep them on regular Similac or Enfamil or whatever you're using.

EDIT:  It is not that much cheaper than using regular formula.  Though it may not harm your child in the short term, why introduce all of the excess sugar if it isn't necessary?  If you want cheaper, go with a generic formula (Parent's Choice, Target brand, etc.)

Yes it is more sugary!  Ordinary milk-based formula does not contain "corn syrup solids" and stage 2 formula does!  READ THE BACK OF THE CAN!  See for yourself!  Of course, the Similac website is not going to list this because their goal is to sell a product to people who don't do their research.  Here is a link to the Parent's Choice website for their stage 2 formula.  Note "corn syrup solids" on their list of ingredients, then click on the page for milk-based formula and look at those ingredients.  There's your proof:

  3. It's got more calcium. It is not more "sugary". The calcium content is the only difference in Similac Go & Grow Step 2.

  4. My daughter is still using Similac Advance just health reasons . she is so small her daughter wants to stay on it until she is at least 20 pounds . but if your baby is between 9 to 12 month she should be on infant formula until she is at least a year
