Has any other pregnant woman noticed?

that despite eating healthy and doing moderate exercise like walking etc they are still storing the weight on their bums and thighs?? Is there a certain reason for this or is it just me but my legs and bum are getting bigger along with my tummy. My face and arms are exactly how they were pre-pregnancy but my maternity clothes are getting tighter on my thighs and bum. Just wondering if there is a reason the fat goes there? Im not moaning cos i only have 10 weeks to go and i know that ill loose my baby weight cos im very determined but was just a general wondering.

  1. I think you are just one of those lucky women who gain in there butt and thighs.  I have gained a little in my thighs and rear, but I have always had a big azz so it didn't shock me.  But I have a friend she is pregnant too, and her butt grew before her belly.  I tell her all the time the baby is in the wrong place. LoL.  But she did the same thing when she was pregnant with her little girl, and she snapped right back to her tall slender figure after her baby was born.


  2. It's different with every women, I on the other hand have gained a  lot on my arms and my belly ofcourse .  

  3. Every pregnancy is different . With my 1st I gained it all in my butt and thighs . This go around this is not the case thank goodness and have kept a good healthy diet and exercised. You have to gain fat while pregnant some just store it in different areas . Plus you have to remember a lot of it is water weight :) .

  4. its normal my legs and thigs and butt is bigger which i like but i hope to keep all them after i have my baby im just gonna tone up everything cause i like my pregnancy weight and i would love to keep mine and fat is going in those areas b/c your pregnant now

  5. i think it has something to do with the weight you are caring around that area. since you carry the baby on top of you buns and thighs so they need more fat to get more grounded and able to carry the heavy load.  

  6. Ive had the same problem, lol Im guessing I went up about 3 sizes from my thighs and bum, so your not alone! Dunno why it seems to all go there. But I have stretch marks alll over those areas, hopefully though things will go back to normal after the babys born :)

  7. The minute I got pregnant, my body couldn't wait to start storing fat on my bum and thighs.. They were already curvy but goodness, they are a full moon now. I think that the body prepares early by making the bottom half more sturdy and stable to be able to handle the top half as our tummies grow and our b***s get bigger, our lower half has to get thicker to support the extra weight.. A bit like a tree trunk you could say!! lol..

  8. I have noticed the same thing as well. I believe it's just a part of pregnancy. Some women are blessed/cursed with certain things of pregnancy.  

  9. its really different for different people...some people store more on the top than the bottom(me) so that my upper arms get fat and my cheeks blow up, and my stomach gets bigger(im not pregnant currently) but anyways its just that we have fat reserves in those areas (especially thighs and bum)and any extra caloroies we take in just get stored in those areas.  its got to do with the anatomy, genetics and also hormones--the more stressed we are the more cortisol our bodies release and this hormone is glucogenic meaning it releases extra sugars and hence fats into our bloodstream and pregnancy is like a stress on our body. in summary--ur bottom fat accumulation is common and completely normal!!!

  10. This happens to me too! I jog 4 times a week and I eat very healthy. But for some reason... my thighs and butt are still growing. They have celulite and it sux! My calves are very toned and my arms and face havent gained much at all. But for some reason, my thighs and butt are gaining all the weight! (Along with my belly)
